Strike in the Heartland

Lost in Time

Print Info

This day helped redeem my entire trip. The day earlier I had spent a good portion driving from Alabama to Nebraska for a potential significant tornado outbreak. Instead I sat under a blue sky bust. The next day I drove into severe storms outside Kansas City. A wall cloud literally formed on top of me and ended up dropping a tornado behind the trees to my side. After that, I missed another tornado in eastern Kansas by minutes. A squall line soon formed producing numerous beautiful CG lightning strikes. I soon found myself near Yates Center, Kansas, where I snapped this very close CG strike. The day in all helped ease my frustrations from the day earlier.
