Nighttime Invasion

Nighttime Invasion

Print Info

On the last day of July in 2012, I was finishing packing and getting ready for my move to Oklahoma. Earlier in the day, I told my friend how I was excited to move to Oklahoma, that it was nearly impossible to get decent structure shots of storms in Alabama. Apparently I was heard by Mother Nature. That night, a squall line raced south across the state from Tennessee. I left Tuscaloosa and headed for Birmingham, but I ended up stopping in Lake View. The core of the squall line was headed my way, and I managed to come across this lake just as the shelf cloud started to move across it. I was instantly reminded of one of my favorite movies, Independence Day.
