The Windswept Plains of Oklahoma

The Windswept Plains of Oklahoma

Print Info

On October 13th, 2012 I sat in Norman waiting for storms to develop. The previous day I saw three tornadoes in the Texas Panhandle, but I just was not impressed with the dynamics during the current day. During the afternoon a storm fired west of me showing some mid-level rotation. I soon headed west to meet the storm. As soon as I got there, it went outflow dominant and produced this shelf cloud. I was able to capture it as it moved over a wind farm near Minco, Oklahoma. I came into the day with low expectations , and was awarded one of the best shelf clouds I have ever seen.
