Sunset Alien Infiltration

Print Info
For the second year in a row, the weekend I planned a trip to Colorado resulted in a localized tornado outbreak. Unlike the previous year, I chose to not back out of the trip. So while large tornadoes where ongoing in Nebraska and Iowa, I was headed west down I-40 in Oklahoma with a few friends.A few discrete supercells erupted along the dryline in Western Oklahoma that evening. Although there was no tornado threat, a few had good structure. I captured this supercell outside Clinton, Oklahoma right at sunset, the structure looked like it came straight from the movie, Independence Day. So in the end, I did not see the tornadoes in the Midwest, but I did see a beautiful supercell at sunset on my way to Colorado.
