At 190 feet, Mooney Falls is taller than the famed Niagara Falls and the largest waterfall along Havasu Creek. From the hilltop where you park to this impressive waterfall, it is a 13 mile hike, 26 including the return trip. After arriving at the top of the falls, you will need to descend through tunnels and down the cliff using chains to arrive at the base of the falls.

It is not a difficult hike to the falls and then descending down the cliff, but it is a hike that requires a lot of stamina and will power. One I am glad I did. On the last day of my visit to the Havasupai Indian Reservation, I made it to the base of the falls. I arrived near sunrise, long before the Sun's glare could rise above the canyon walls and ruin the pristine blue waters. Standing near the base of the falls as the mists rise, you appreciate how much power the water carries.
